The latest figures for the number of COVID-19 vaccine figures in Cornwall released this week show more progression across the Duchy.
74,192 COVID-19 vaccines have now been given, with 78.9% of people over 80 now having received their first jab.
Commenting, St Austell and Newquay’s Member of Parliament Steve Double said:
“This is good news, with more solid progress for our vaccine programme in Cornwall.”
“I hear good news stories every day from people who have had the vaccine and continue to be impressed by the commitment shown by all involved in the vaccine rollout.”
“With the mass vaccination centre now open at Stithians Showground, and another one opening at the Royal Cornwall Showground next week, these figures will only continue to accelerate.”
“While we all look forward to a return to normality when it is safe to do so, for now everyone should continue to follow the rules, Stay at Home, Protect the NHS and Save Lives.”
