Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean is coming to Gover with a big community litter pick at the beginning of March.
Commenting, co-organiser Steve Double MP said:
“As part of Keep Britain Tidy's Great British Spring Clean I am delighted to be organising this litter pick to tidy up around the Truro Road and Gover part of St Austell.”
“We will start at Truro Road Park and also do the River Walk, Gover Stream and roadsides/pavements/verges of the surrounding area.”
“All equipment and a pasty for everyone who comes along will kindly be donated by the good people at Biffa and Clean Cornwall.”
“Please come along and join the Gover community in doing our bit to clean up our town.”
Commenting, Cornwall Councillor for Gover Division Sandra Heyward said:
"As Cornwall Councillor for this area, I am pleased to be supporting this initiative that is helping to make the Gover Division more pleasant for its residents. This litter pick is supported by our MP, Biffa and the local community as well as myself, Cornwall councillor for Gover.”
“Previously the odd grot spot has been cleared quietly by residents and occasionally at my request the pay back team have cleared spots as well. So to have support as offered can only be to the good. I look forward to seeing everyone on the 3 March.”
The litter pick takes place on Saturday 3 March between 1030 and 1300. Join the fun at Truro Road Park. All equipment will be provided by Biffa as well as a pasty for participants.
