Steve Double, Member of Parliament for St Austell and Newquay, has welcomed today’s announcement by the Government that Cornwall will be receiving £2,572,746 of funding as our share of a £100m national Pothole Fund to deal with potholes.
This money will help repair almost around 50,000 potholes in Cornwall.
Commenting, Steve said:
“With the current state of our roads following the recent harsh winter, it is great to see more funding from the Government to help Cornwall Council fill potholes which cause damage to our vehicles and disrupt our road networks.”
“Even better, this money is ring-fenced, so Cornwall Council will only be able to spend it on potholes.”
“This funding has gone up every year since I have been MP and I will continue to do all I can to ensure it continues to fill our potholes in Cornwall!”
