Steve Double MP, Member of Parliament for St Austell and Newquay, has been appointed to the Parliamentary Committee for Parking Code of Practice Bill.
Commenting, Steve said:
“I am delighted to have been appointed to the Bill Committee for Parking Code of Practice Bill. This Bill seeks to bring greater regulation to private parking firms, something which has long been of interest to me due to the number of people, both locals and tourists, who regularly contact me after being caught with a fine”
“These private parking firms regularly act in unreasonable ways and it is long overdue that greater regulation was brought into force to prevent these abuses. I am pleased to be among the MPs who are taking action to address this issue.”
“I have previously led a debate in Parliament calling for more to be done, and it is good to now be on the committee to help further shape and influence future legislation in this area.”
