Steve Double, MP for St Austell and Newquay, has today raised concerns over clifftop development in Leader of the House Questions in Parliament.
Speaking in Parliament, following the recent landslide at Lusty Glaze Beach, Steve asked for a Ministerial Statement on planning policy for clifftop developments.
Commenting after the debate, Steve said:
“A lot of people are very concerned about the instability of the cliff in Newquay, particularly following the recent landslide at Lusty Glaze, and that developers are trying to build on nearby sites despite the increasing frequency of coastal erosion and cliff falls.”
“I will now be following this up with the Minister in Parliament and seek to ensure our coastline is protected from inappropriate developments.”
