Steve Double, Member of Parliament for St Austell and Newquay, has joined the Refill Cornwall scheme.
Signing up to the scheme, via the Three Bays Wildlife Group, Steve’s constituency office on Fore Street in St Austell, becomes the first premises in St Austell town centre to support Refill.
Premises that display the Refill logo allow people to come in and get free refills of their water bottles, in order to encourage people to use less single use plastic bottles.
Premises can also sign up to appear on the Refill App, which shows all premises which support the scheme on a map.
Commenting, Steve said:
“I am delighted to sign up to the Refill Cornwall scheme. This scheme is another excellent way to promote a more sustainable way of life and encourage people to cut back on the single use plastic bottles they use.”
“I am pleased to be leading the way with my constituency office in St Austell and encourage other interested businesses to get in touch with my team, who will be able to show them how to sign up.”
“It was also good to get a Refill bottle from Three Bays Wildlife Group and I will be taking it with me to Parliament to show how Cornwall is innovating nationally with this excellent scheme.”
