Steve Double, Member of Parliament for St Austell and Newquay, has welcomed success for organisations across Mid-Cornwall who have been awarded tens of thousands of pounds of lottery funding.
£34,383 has been awarded to organisations in St Austell and Newquay over the last three months by the Big Lottery Fund.
Commenting, Steve said:
“This is great news and I congratulate all involved on their successful bids. These are significant funds to make these organisations even better for the communities they are a part of.”

The funding awards break down as follows:
Tywardreath School - £10,000
The group will install a range of outdoor gymnasium style equipment suitable for many age groups, this will support the health, fitness and well-being of the community.
2nd St Austell – Charlestown Scout Group - £9,800
The funding will be used to install a heating system into the scout hall. The project aims to allow the group and local residents to continue using it as a community venue.
Indian Queens Victory Hall - £9,783
The funding will be used to refurb the village hall to enable activities to take place. The project aims to make the hall a welcoming environment, building strong relationships.
Imerys Bowling Club - £4,800
The project will support the club to gauge community opinion and support the development of the group with view to replacement of their community building.
