Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for St Austell and Newquay, Steve Double, working in conjunction with www.streetrepairs.co.uk , has today released a web-based tool to allow St Austell and Newquay constituents to report a wide variety of highway maintenance problems direct to Cornwall Council.
The tool, which can be found on Steve’s website here
http://www.stevedouble.org.uk/campaigns/steve-double-street-repair-api
allows constituents to quickly and easily report problems to Cornwall Council via a simple map-based system. Once reported, constituents will receive updates as Cornwall Council progresses the case.
Commenting, Steve said, ‘when I am out talking with constituents one of the most often raised issues is the number of potholes in this area. With National Pothole Day taking place on Thursday 15th January, I thought that now is a good time to release this excellent tool, which should really help local people communicate directly with Cornwall Council regarding road problems. This in turn should help Cornwall Council to spend some of the £10.7million in additional funding for highway maintenance allocated to them by the Conservative-led Government at the last Budget’.
