“Although we do not know when this will be yet, I am pleased to have the backing of local Conservatives to be their candidate, and look forward to once again standing to retain the St Austell and Newquay seat, for which it has been the greatest honour of my professional life to represent as Member of Parliament for the past seven years.”
“Thank you to Conservative Party Members in our constituency for once again putting your trust in me.”
Commenting, Cllr James Mustoe, Chairman of St Austell and Newquay Conservative Association, said:
“As an association, St Austell and Newquay Conservatives are delighted to have once again adopted Steve Double as our candidate for the next General Election.”
“Steve’s work as Member of Parliament for his home constituency has been second to none, and he has toiled tirelessly to both attract the big money investments our constituency needs from the Government, such as the A30 link road and Spaceport at Newquay, while also daily making a positive difference along with his team, to the lives of so many people in the area who need help and assistance on all matter of issues.”
“We were pleased to unanimously adopt Steve as our candidate and when the time comes, look forward to campaigning to ensure he wins St Austell and Newquay for the Conservatives for the fourth time in a row!”
