Steve Double, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for St Austell and Newquay, recently welcomed South West Conservative MEP, Ashley Fox, to St Austell Brewery.
The Budget saw the Beer Duty Escalator, a 2% annual rise above inflation increase in price for beer, scrapped for the second year running, on top of current prices being cut by a penny.
Commenting, Steve said, 'I was delighted to welcome Ashley Fox MEP to excellent local employer St Austell Brewery. St Austell Brewery is flying the flag for Cornish beer and ale nationally, and combined with the recent news from the Chancellor, I thought this was the ideal time to pay tribute to the proper job this Conservative-led coaltion has done in supporting the manufacturers and consumers of beer and real ale across the country'.
