Steve Double, Member of Parliament for St Austell and Newquay has today welcomed the news that Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant in Newquay will be playing a major role in an innovative national project.
Working with partners Watergate Bay Hotel, St Austell Brewery, Cornwall College and Visit Cornwall, Fifteen Cornwall is delivering the ‘Experts Grow’ project, securing funding from the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) to increase the productivity and perceived value of hospitality skills, and to develop professional opportunities within the hospitality industry.
Commenting, Steve said,
“With hospitality and tourism forming such a large part of the employment sector, both here in Newquay, but also across our constituency and Cornwall as a whole, I welcome Fifteen Cornwall stepping up and playing such a pivotal role in delivering this project, and championing the progression of employees working throughout this field.
I look forward to seeing how this project progresses and am sure that Fifteen Cornwall’s innovative approach, combined with their excellent local partners, will result in a great outcome for all concerned.”
