Steve Double has welcomed the opening of the new Cornwall Services, which are located in the St Austell and Newquay constituency.
Found just off the A30 at the Victoria Interchange, the Cornwall Services is Cornwall’s first motorway style service station and the only one to be found west of Exeter.
Employing at least 200 local people, with 750 jobs created during its construction, Cornwall Services hopes to attract an average of 3,500 customers a day with a variety of local and national brands on hand.
Visiting the site on its official opening date of 1 July, Steve said, ‘I am delighted to see the continuing success of the Conservative long term economic plan embodied with the opening of new local businesses such as these’.
‘With businesses ranging from national brands such as McDonalds and WH Smiths, to high end local Cornish artisan deli Cornish Delish, which champions local produce, along with the Sausage and Roll and Open Oven Pizza Company, there really does seem to be something for everyone here. I wish the Cornwall Services every success for the future and hope that they deliver a real taste of Cornwall to both visitors and locals alike’.
Laura Mustoe, manager of Cornish Delish said, ‘I am very excited to be involved in the start of Cornish Delish and the great range of locally produced Cornish food which we are selling. We have a rich tradition of wholesome, handmade food in Cornwall, and I look forward to promoting this wide variety of top of the range local products to our customers’.
