Steve Double, Member of Parliament for St Austell and Newquay has today welcomed Roads Minister Andrew Jones MP, to St Austell and Newquay.
Giving the Minister a tour of and officially opening the new road improvements at Carluddon, Steve commented:
“I was delighted to welcome the Roads Minister to St Austell today to open the new road improvements at Carluddon. It is a priority of mine to improve the transport infrastructure for our constituency and this project is an important part of what I see as an eventual improved road network that will link St Austell to the A30 while bypassing villages such as Bugle, Stenalees and Roche that have for so long had to shoulder the burden of traffic to and from St Austell and the main road into Cornwall.”
“The Government has already committed to fund this road and I will now be working with Cornwall Council to produce a feasibility report to show how we can take this forward”.
