Steve Double, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for St Austell and Newquay, recently welcomed the Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor, the Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP, to Newquay.
While visiting Newquay, the Secretary of State was introduced to Inspector Meredith of Devon and Cornwall Constabulary, and also met with the award winning Newquay Safe Partnership, a multi agency partnership that looks to address a wide variety of issues in the town.
Commenting, Steve said, 'I was delighted to welcome the Secretary of State to Newquay and to get a chance to showcase the really excellent work that local police, agencies and volunteers are doing to improve and enhance the experience of living, working and visiting the town. Newquay Safe's award winning record speaks for itself and I hope that the Secretary of State has been able to take away from his visit some of the excellent ideas they have implemented, to use as examples of best practice in similar schemes across the country'.
