Cornwall Council has today confirmed its approval of additional elements for the Newquay Strategic Route.
The plans, which will be jointly delivered by Cornwall Council and Network Rail, are for the remaining sections of the Newquay Strategic Route, specifically from the south of the structure known as the bastion wall to and including the roundabout on the A392, and the section bridging the Newquay to Par railway line, with Network Rail leading on the bridge, and Cormac on the rest.
St Austell and Newquay’s Member of Parliament Steve Double, has been working with Cornwall Council, Network Rail and the Duchy of Cornwall to bring these plans forward.
Commenting, Steve said:
“With the tremendous growth of Newquay in recent years, it is more important than ever that the Newquay Strategic Route is delivered. This is a critical piece of strategic transport infrastructure that will boost the whole town and improve connectivity for both Newquay and the surrounding area.”
“I look forward to seeing work starting soon and this project delivered for the people of Newquay.”
