Steve Double, Member of Parliament for St Austell and Newquay has welcomed the launch of the Digital Infrastructure Investment Fund, introduced by the government that will see homes and businesses across England benefit from better broadband.
The Government’s £400 million Digital Infrastructure Investment Fund (DIIF) will unlock over £1 billion for full fibre broadband, and kick-start better broadband connections across the country.
Commenting, Steve said:
“Regardless of where you live or work, the Government wants everyone to benefit from access to the fast, affordable and reliable broadband they need to thrive.”
“Particularly in rural areas like Mid-Cornwall, having the best possible broadband access in this digital age is essential for people who live and work here, also creating the right conditions for more high-skilled, high-paid jobs in the future.”
“I am pleased that the Government has committed £400 million for the new Digital Infrastructure Investment Fund. This Government’s Digital Strategy is helping bring together business organisations, local authorities and communications providers. I will continue to ensure Mid-Cornwall homes and businesses benefit from these changes and that we are able to get the broadband service that we deserve.”
