Steve Double, Member of Parliament for St Austell and Newquay, has welcomed the announcement that the Government is awarding £1.9 million to Cornwall from the Children’s Social Care Innovation Programme.
Commenting, Steve said:
“I am delighted that the Government has recognised the need in Cornwall for additional funding and has awarded £1.9m of funding to encourage Cornwall Council to innovate its practice and the way it delivers services. I look forward to working with Cornwall Council to ensure this money is spent wisely and targeted at those who need it most.”
Commenting, Robert Goodwill, Minister for Children and Families said:
“Through the Innovation Programme, we continue to fund exciting and pioneering projects that look to shake-up our traditional approach to social care. Together they proffer a broad and balanced portfolio which both test new innovations, and scale and spread those that have been successful in Round One of the programme. I am delighted that we have supported this project, and look forward to continuing to hear about its great work in the future.”
