Steve Double, Member of Parliament for St Austell and Newquay has welcomed confirmation from the Department for Transport that the Government backed London-Newquay air route will be recommencing on 24 July.
The Secretary of State for Transport has signed off on the BA route to Heathrow from Cornwall Airport Newquay which will run three times a week from 24 July, then five times a week in August and then daily from September onwards using Airbus A319 aircraft.
Commenting, Steve said:
“It is crucial that the vital Newquay-London route is maintained and I am delighted to see the Government continue to back this route, going through Heathrow, for residents, businesses and visitors to Cornwall. This connection supports many local businesses as well as tourism across the county.”
