Steve Double, Member of Parliament for St Austell and Newquay, has welcomed Tourism Minister John Glen MP, to Newquay.
Visiting during the peak of the season, and with Newquay being one of the top tourist destinations in Cornwall, Steve was keen to bring the Minister to the town to show just how important the tourist industry is to the area.
During his visit Steve and the Minister met with local tourism business leaders to press the case about how vital tourism is for not just Newquay but across Cornwall as a whole.

“I was delighted to welcome John Glen MP, Minister for Arts, Heritage and Tourism, to Newquay last week.”
“With the tourism industry so important for both Newquay and Cornwall as a whole, it was good to sit down with John and representatives from Visit Cornwall, the Headland Hotel, Cornwall Airport Newquay and the Eden Project to discuss the work the Government is doing to support this vital sector.”
“As we were in Newquay I also couldn’t miss the opportunity to take the Minister body boarding at Watergate Bay - which he really enjoyed!”
