Residents of Park Homes who do not pay their electricity direct to the energy provider can now apply for £400 Government support towards cost of living. The Government’s application portal is now open for applications.
The Government is also providing a further £200 payment to help those households in Great Britain who use alternative fuels such as biomass or heating oil to meet energy costs this winter. Most households eligible for this support in Great Britain, will receive payment automatically via their electricity supplier in February, with no need to take any action.
However those households who for example do not have a direct relationship with an electricity supplier, such as many park home residents, will need to apply for the payment via the portal which has now opened.
Commenting, St Austell and Newquay’s Member of Parliament Steve Double said:
“I have been working hard with the Government to ensure people who do not have a direct relationship with an electricity supplier, such as the many park home residents in Mid-Cornwall, get access to this support as quickly as possible.”
The Government has had to make a bespoke system due to the complexity of the information being collected, but it is good to see this is now in place, and I encourage anyone who is eligible to make an application via the gov.uk portal.”
